Delete Your Account
You can delete your MusicPool account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone. Deletion starts a 30-day countdown, and you can call it off at any point before it runs out.
01Delete from the app
This is the quickest route, and it does not require contacting us.
- Open MusicPool and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Edit in the top corner.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. This starts a 30-day countdown.
Your account stays recoverable for those 30 days. At the end of it, everything below is removed permanently.
02If you can't sign in
Lost access to your account and can't reach the in-app option? A forgotten password you can't reset, or an email address you no longer control? Email us and we'll handle the deletion for you:
Send it from the address the account is registered to if you can. If you can't, tell us your username and we'll verify ownership another way before deleting anything. We won't delete an account on an unverified request.
03What gets deleted
When the 30 days are up, we permanently remove:
- Your profile. Display name, username, avatar, bio, music preferences, and age.
- Your chats. Every conversation you've taken part in, and the messages in them.
- Your saved songs. Everything in your Likes.
- Your reviews. Ratings and notes you've left, and those left about you.
- Your account. Login credentials, push notification tokens, and device records.
Some records are kept longer where the law requires it, or where they're needed to keep other people safe: a record of a report made against your account for abuse or harassment, for example. These are kept separately from your profile and are not used to identify you.
04Changing your mind
Simply signing in again during the 30 days keeps your account. Nothing is lost, and you don't need to contact us.
You can also cancel it explicitly: go back to Profile → Edit → Delete account and tap Keep my account.
Once the 30 days have passed, deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed, not by you and not by us.
